Celebrating One Year Since Dragons’ Den: Coldture’s Journey of Growth and Innovation

Hey guys! Founders Daniel Mazour and Michael Spivak here.

It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since we stepped into the Dragons’ Den studio, nervously clutching our dreams and a cold plunge tub. We were there to pitch Coldture, our cold plunge company, and we’ll be honest — it was a moment we’ll never forget. Now, a year later, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the experience, the lessons we learned, and the incredible innovations that have come from Michele Romanow’s investment in our vision.

And the story’s not over yet—our update segment will air TODAY, Thursday, November 28th, 2024, at 8:00 PM EST on CBC and CBC Gem. We’re thrilled to share what’s next with the world.

To mark this milestone and the excitement of the update segment airing this evening, we’re thrilled to announce our exclusive Black Friday & Cyber Monday offer: The Pro Plunge is on sale for the first time ever. For five days only, it’s available at $10,999—an incredible $2,300 in savings! The sale starts right at 8:00 PM EST.

A Nervous Start That Turned Into a Defining Moment

Walking onto the Dragons’ Den stage was like stepping into another world. The lights were bright, the cameras were rolling, and six of Canada’s sharpest business minds were staring back at us. Before we even had a chance to launch into our pitch, Arlene Dickinson broke the ice with a somewhat sarcastic comment: “Cold plunges — the answer to life’s problems.” It was a playful jab, but in that moment, it was exactly what we needed to loosen up and roll with the punches.

Instead of letting it rattle us, we leaned into the humour. We explained how cold plunges really are a life-changer, from their mental clarity benefits to the physical recovery they provide. The room shifted, and what started as nerves turned into one of the most fun, adrenaline-filled experiences of our lives.

Daniel recalls: “It was intimidating at first, but we knew our stuff and just kept it authentic. It was all about being ourselves, even when the Dragons threw us curveballs.”

By the time we had demonstrated our product (yes, one of the Dragons tried out the tub!), the tension in the room had melted — or, rather, frozen over in the best way possible.

Lessons Learned in the Den

Pitching in front of the Dragons taught us lessons that have stuck with us ever since:

     #1. Believe in Yourself

No matter how nervous you feel, it’s important to take a moment and ground yourself in your purpose. Remember why you’re there and the hard work you’ve poured into your journey. Confidence doesn’t come from being perfect; it comes from preparation and believing in your own abilities.

Take pride in the hours you’ve dedicated to your idea, the obstacles you’ve overcome, and the expertise you’ve built. When you trust yourself and your process, it becomes easier to channel those nerves into positive energy.

Confidence truly is everything—it’s what allows you to show up authentically, communicate your vision clearly, and make a lasting impression, even in the most high-pressure situations.

     #2. Know Your Numbers

The Dragons don’t hold back when it comes to asking the tough questions, and that’s where preparation becomes your greatest asset. Knowing our business inside and out wasn’t just important—it was essential.

From the details of our product to our financials and market positioning, we made sure there wasn’t a single gap in our knowledge. When you’re on that stage, there’s no room for hesitation or second-guessing; the Dragons can sense it instantly.

Being fully prepared not only allowed us to answer confidently but also showed them that we were serious entrepreneurs with a deep understanding of what makes our business special. It’s all about being sharp, clear, and ready for anything they throw at you.

     #3. Have Fun

At the end of the day, stepping onto that stage was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—a chance to share our passion and vision with an audience that could help take Coldture to the next level.

What truly made the difference was embracing the moment wholeheartedly. Instead of letting nerves take over, we focused on the excitement and privilege of being there. It wasn’t just about pitching; it was about showing the Dragons who we are, what we’ve built, and why it matters.

Leaning into the experience with confidence, positivity, and a sense of fun transformed what could have been a nerve-wracking ordeal into one of the most rewarding and memorable moments of our journey.

Michele Romanow saw our passion and the potential of Coldture, and she offered us $200,000 for 10% equity. It was the start of a partnership that would propel our business into new territory.

Innovation Unlocked: The Pro Plunge and Water Chiller Pro

Fast-forward a year, and Coldture has grown in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Michele’s investment and guidance have been instrumental in helping us expand our product line and bring some game-changing innovations to market.

One of our proudest achievements is the Pro Plunge — a high-end, self-cleaning plunge tub with app-controlled temperature settings and adjustable jets. It’s perfect for anyone serious about cold exposure, whether you’re a wellness enthusiast or a professional athlete. It’s a product that embodies everything we’ve learned about delivering both luxury and functionality.

The Pro Plunge represents how far we’ve come since standing on that Dragons’ Den stage. To celebrate this milestone and our journey, we’re making the Pro Plunge more accessible than ever. For the first time, and only during Black Friday & Cyber Monday, it’s available for just $10,999 - over $2,300 in savings. The sale starts at 8:00 PM EST today and it’s our way of saying thank you to everyone who’s supported us along the way.

We’ve also introduced the
Water Chiller Pro, a state-of-the-art chiller designed to keep your plunge tub icy cold without the need for constant ice refills. It’s efficient, quiet, and built for the long haul, making cold therapy more accessible and hassle-free than ever.

These products are a testament to what’s possible when you combine passion, expertise, and the right support. Without the Dragons’ Den experience, we wouldn’t have been able to take these bold steps forward.

Looking Ahead

Reflecting on this past year, we’re filled with gratitude — for the Dragons’ Den opportunity, for Michele’s belief in us, and for the community of cold therapy enthusiasts who continue to support Coldture. This anniversary is a milestone, but it’s also just the beginning.

Don't forget! Our update segment airs today, November 28th, 2024, at 8:00 PM EST on CBC and CBC Gem. It’s just the beginning of what’s to come.

We’re committed to continuing our mission of making cold exposure accessible, effective, and enjoyable for everyone. Whether you’re just starting your cold plunge journey or you’re a seasoned pro, we’re here to help you take the plunge — literally.

To those dreaming of their own Dragons’ Den moment: trust your vision, know your stuff, and don’t be afraid to have fun with it. Who knows? A little cold plunge might just be the answer to life’s problems after all.

Stay frosty,

Daniel & Mike
