wood-fired heat. built for the elements.

real fire. real steam. zero wiring.

the xtreme wood burning sauna pairs the same cold-climate shell as our flagship xtreme E outdoor sauna with a Finnish Narvi NC16 wood-burning stove. no electrician, no dedicated circuit, no panel upgrade. just dry firewood, a match, and traditional sauna heat the way it has been done in Finland for generations.

built for snow, rain, heat, and freeze-thaw cycles, it delivers consistent high-heat sessions in backyards, cottages, and off-grid properties year-round. powder-coated metal shell, western red cedar interior, 10 mm bronze tempered glass, and a 16 kW stove that heats rooms up to 565 cubic feet.

light the fire. settle in. let the heat do the rest.

why heat therapy matters

heat therapy supports recovery, circulation, and mental clarity. as the body warms, blood flow increases, muscles relax, and the nervous system calms. over time this simple practice supports stronger recovery, better sleep, and a clearer mind.

circulation

heat encourages healthy blood flow throughout the body.

muscle recovery

warmth helps release tension and support recovery after activity.

stress reduction

heat helps calm the nervous system and reduce physical tension.

sleep support

many people experience deeper sleep after sauna sessions.

built for every season

the outdoor wood burning sauna is designed to perform in changing climates. from freezing winters to warm summer evenings, the structure is built to retain heat, protect the stove, and deliver a consistent sauna experience.

and because it runs on firewood, your recovery does not depend on the grid. cottage, acreage, or backyard: if you can stack wood, you can sauna.

built with intention

every detail of the outdoor sauna xtreme is designed for durability, performance, and everyday use.

from the materials we select to the way the structure retains heat, the goal is simple: create a sauna that performs reliably and feels solid for years.

this is recovery equipment designed for long term ownership.

built for company

two full-length benches face each other across the stove, each 64 inches long and 18 inches deep, seating up to 6 people comfortably. a low footrest runs along both sides, so you can sit upright, stretch out, or plant your feet and lean in.

with 31Β½ inches of clear width between the benches and the stove centred at the front, everyone gets heat, everyone gets space, and nobody draws the short seat. this is a sauna designed for conversation, for family, and for the long sit.

facing benches, both sides
64" x 18" per side, 37" bench height, with a 7" footrest at 18Β½" for a natural seated posture.

up to 6 people
the largest wood-fired footprint in the Coldture lineup: 88" wide, 89Β½" tall, 73ΒΌ" deep.

immersive glass design

full glass front door with 10 mm bronze tinted tempered glass and insulated side windows create a brighter, more open sauna experience while maintaining heat retention and durability. a magnetic door closure ensures a secure seal and smooth, quiet operation.

Narvi has been building wood-burning sauna stoves in Finland for decades. this is the real thing.

the coldture system

heat, cold, and light work together to support recovery, circulation, and long term wellness.

the sauna increases circulation and prepares the body for recovery. cold exposure then stimulates the nervous system and supports resilience. red light helps support muscle recovery and cellular repair.

used together, these tools create a powerful recovery cycle used by athletes, wellness professionals, and people building consistent routines.

heat

deep heat raises core temperature, increases circulation, and helps muscles relax. this prepares the body for recovery while promoting physical and mental relaxation.

cold

cold exposure activates the nervous system, supports circulation, and helps reduce inflammation. the result is increased resilience and faster recovery.

light

red light therapy penetrates deep into muscle and tissue to support cellular repair, circulation, and recovery after physical stress.

repeat

alternating between heat, cold, and light creates a consistent recovery cycle that supports long term performance, balance, and wellness.

frequently asked questions

can the wood burning XTREME be used year-round?

yes. it is designed for permanent outdoor installation and reliable year-round use, including in cold winter climates. the exterior shell is identical to our standard XTREME outdoor sauna.

does it need an electrical connection?

the Narvi NC16 stove requires no electricity at all. no dedicated circuit, no breaker, no electrician for the heater.

what kind of wood should I use?

natural dry hardwood or softwood logs with less than 20% moisture content. ideal firewood is roughly 5 cm in diameter and 33 cm long. never burn treated wood, pellets, briquettes, chipboard, waste, or liquid fuel.

is a chimney included?

yes. a complete T600-class, CE-marked modular flue system is included, centred on the rear of the sauna and running to 120 inches overall.

how long does the sauna take to heat up?

heat-up time depends on outdoor temperature, firewood quality, and firing technique. one firebox of wood burns for roughly half an hour, and most users add one to two rounds of wood to reach and hold session temperature.

are sauna stones included?

the Narvi NC16 uses 110 lbs of 4 to 6 inch sauna stones.

is maintenance required?

empty the ash drawer before each heating, wipe interior surfaces after use, and have the chimney swept annually. sauna stones should be re-arranged once per year and replaced every other year.

is delivery and installation included?

delivery and installation are not included in standard pricing. additional fees may apply for remote or island locations. installation is available at a variable rate depending on location.
