Our Story
the coldture story
How a torn meniscus and a chest freezer in a garage became Canada's leading recovery brand.
The Founders
two parallel stories. one shared mission.
Coldture was founded in 2021 by Daniel Mazour and Michael Spivak, two friends who turned personal recovery into a movement.

Daniel tore his meniscus and couldn't get surgery right away. Recovery felt far off, so he started experimenting with cold exposure to reduce pain and inflammation. It worked. The routine became his focus, his reset, his discipline. When he went looking for a proper cold tub, nothing on the market met his standards for quality, performance, or design. That frustration became the start of Coldture.

During the isolation of the pandemic, Michael turned to breathwork and ice baths to manage stress and find stillness. With no equipment available, he began plunging in a chest freezer in his garage. Friends started joining, curious about what he was doing. Soon, he was guiding small groups through their first ice baths, helping them calm their breath and connect with their bodies. The results were undeniable.

As Seen On
dragons' den spotlight
In 2023, Coldture pitched on Season 18 of CBC's Dragons' Den. It wasn't just about funding. It was a moment to show how recovery could become part of modern living.
The pitch included a live cold plunge demo with the Dragons. By the end, Michele Romanow invested $200,000 for 10% equity, backing the vision to scale Coldture across North America.
THE JOURNEY
built year by year
From a garage idea to a top North American recovery brand.

2020
the spark
Two separate journeys begin. Daniel tears his meniscus and turns to cold exposure for recovery when surgery isn't an option. Michael, isolated during the pandemic, starts plunging in a chest freezer in his garage and guiding friends through breathwork and ice baths. Neither knows the other yet. Both discover the same thing: the cold changes everything.

2021
the foundation
Daniel and Michael's paths converge. One built around recovery and performance. The other built around mindfulness and connection. Together, they become Coldture. The first year is spent testing prototypes, sourcing materials, and engineering tubs that meet a standard nothing on the market could match. No shortcuts. Every detail refined before a single unit ships.

2023
the leap forward
Coldture pitched on Dragons' Den and shared its story with the country. A deal with Michele Romanow helped accelerate growth and scale the vision. The team developed a new acrylic Pro Plunge, an upgraded chiller, and advanced filtration systems. Coldture began appearing in gyms, wellness studios, and professional training centers across Canada.

2024
the expansion
Coldture opened its own manufacturing facility. Three new products launched: the Pro Plunge, the Chiller Pro, and the Ultra Barrel Lite. Partnerships formed with F45, the ATP Tour, NHL organizations, and Olympic teams. The brand launched on Costco.ca and moved into a new headquarters with its own warehouse and repair center.

2025
the evolution of recovery
Coldture launched its first sauna line, introducing heat to balance the cold. The brand partnered with Team Canada and Tennis Canada as official recovery partners. Two new cold plunges followed: the Pro Lite and the Pro Plunge Xtreme, engineered for outdoor use in any season. At Toronto Sauna Fest, over 1,600 people cycled through Coldture plunges in a single day. The brand launched on Costco.com in the United States.

2026
the full ecosystem
Coldture enters outdoor saunas and changes the game. 100% made in Canada, purpose-built for Canadian climates, engineered to the same standard that redefined cold plunging. The Coldture red light therapy line also launches: the Red Light Face Mask, Focus Panel, and Pro Panel. Cold. Heat. Light. For the first time, a single Canadian brand covers the full spectrum of recovery.
